Jesse McCulloch, a four-star center in the class of 2024, has narrowed his list of suitors down to eight schools: Alabama, Indiana, Kent State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Xavier. McCulloch told On3’s Joe Tipton he has an early March official visit set up to Michigan State, and he’d like to officially visit Indiana and Xavier, although dates are not set yet for those two.  He also recently visited Alabama. With spring practice around the corner, this is the time of the year when the less cynical IU fans begin to wonder — “could this be our year?” But hope doesn’t spring eternal for many after a brutal two season stretch. On a night full of emotion in East Lansing, Indiana wasn’t up to the challenge. EAST LANSING, Mich. — Indiana lost to Michigan State by a final score of 80-65 at the Breslin Center on Tuesday evening. Michigan State led 35-29 at halftime.  The Hoosiers were led in the game by Trayce Jackson-Davis with 19 points.  Jalen Hood-Schifino added 16 points. A new clue came today signaling point guard Xavier Johnson is a step closer to making a return for Indiana. In a photo released by the program (above), Johnson (wearing jersey No. 0) could be seen in full practice gear as IU went through shootaround at Michigan State. Johnson has been shooting around on his own well before games for several weeks, so this does not necessarily mean he will play tonight in East Lansing.  But this is the first time he’s been spotted in team activities.
