The transfer portal is going to be a key recruiting tool for Indiana in the coming weeks as they look to replenish their roster. While the portal opens for everyone on March 13, graduate transfers are already entering their names, and that means the IU basketball staff is busy recruiting college prospects during this postseason run. Andrew Slater of Cerebro Sports reported IU has reached out to Harvard forward Chris Ledlum as part of what projects to be a highly competitive recruitment. Ledlum, a Brooklyn, N.Y. product, also heard from at least Kentucky, UCLA, Ohio State, Nebraska, Maryland, Florida, LSU,…

The countdown to Selection Sunday 2023 continues. Now just one week away, it is time once again for our weekly look at where IU basketball stands in the eyes of the bracketology world. With just the Big Ten Tournament remaining, Indiana (21-10, 12-8) finished tied for second in the league and remains solidly in the NCAA Tournament field after splitting home games the final week of the regular season against Iowa and Michigan. The best estimate might be that Indiana is a No. 4 seed going into the conference tournament. With a minimum of one game to go and a…
These Hoosiers may have flaws, but they also have plenty of grit. That was necessary from the opening tip against Michigan after Indiana suffered their worst loss of the season. It was a game of wild prolonged runs, with punches and counterpunches. Indiana opened the game with a 27-13 lead before Michigan went on a 39-13 run that spanned the end of the first half and well into the second. And then IU closed regulation with a 29-17 answer. Let’s take a deeper look at how the Hoosiers won 75-73 in overtime with another edition of The Report Card. Indiana…

Michigan center Hunter Dickinson was in Bloomington during the offseason — and he didn’t walk away impressed with what he saw. Or more specifically, who he saw. “It’s not the best clientele. I have to say that. There’s a lot of normal people in Ann Arbor. There’s a lot of weirdos in Bloomington,” Dickinson said on the RoundBall podcast in November. Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis was also on the podcast, and he knew IU fans would take exception to Dickinson’s comments. “They are going to love hearing that,” Jackson-Davis said of Indiana fans. https://twitter.com/roundballpod/status/1593275367871086596?s=20 On Sunday Dickinson makes his return to…
