March 25, 1993 — St. Louis, Missouri Nothing was going to get in senior forward Calbert Cheaney’s way in a 1993 Sweet 16 matchup with Louisville. Certainly not Cardinal forward Dwayne Morton. After Morton tried to intimidate Cheaney after an altercation at the rim, the two got into a heated, face-to-face meeting on the ground that resulted in technical fouls on both players. For most of the game, the No. 1 seeded Indiana Hoosiers had no answers on defense when it came to stopping Temple’s Khalif Wyatt. Fortunately for IU, their own superstar rose to the occasion in the closing seconds on the other end of the floor. Indiana’s first departure via the transfer portal came on Thursday afternoon. Center Logan Duncomb will look to play elsewhere after two seasons in Bloomington. “I’ve made the difficult decision to leave IU,” Duncomb said in a Twitter post.  “Thankful for the teammates, fans, coaches, staff, and friends who have supported me! Love you all.” The Cincinnati product had sinus surgery in early February.  He had not played since Jan. 14. Indiana is showing interest in a big man they were game planning for a year ago. Wyoming star center Graham Ike entered the transfer portal earlier this week, and IU is one of several high profile programs to make contact. He sat out this past season due to a foot injury. On the offensive end, Reeves is a high usage wing with a high ceiling who has to become more efficient. According to a report by 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham, Minnesota forward Jamison Battle is hearing from a number of schools including IU after putting his name in the portal last week.
