It will be a one-and-done tenure for wide receivers coach Adam Henry in Bloomington. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported on Wednesday afternoon Henry is headed back to the NFL to coach the wide receivers for the Buffalo Bills. Tom Allen announced the hiring of Henry, who also held the title of co-offensive coordinator, less than a year ago on March 18, 2022. In his lone season at IU, Henry helped Cam Camper emerge as a weapon at the Power Five level after transferring in from junior college. Camper had 46 catches for 569 yards in seven games before…
Indiana will start its game against Northwestern on Wednesday having not allowed a point in its last 5:12 of action. But the last time they faced the Wildcats, a veteran backcourt duo scorched that now surging IU defense. Chase Audige and Boo Buie combined for 47 points in early January as Indiana struggled to contain both of them off the drive. And what Audige and Buie did a month ago to Indiana was nothing new. A year ago in Evanston, Buie had 18 and Audige 12 as Northwestern beat a shorthanded IU squad. Back in Dec. 2020, Audige scored all…
Lost in the chaos of Indiana’s stressful 62-61 win at Michigan was an impressive start. On IU’s first play of the game, the Hoosiers ran a set that freed up Trayce Jackson-Davis for a wide open dunk. And on Monday night head coach Mike Woodson gave credit where it was due — to the IU women’s basketball staff. As it turns out the IU men’s staff first saw the play — involving a scissors action and a UCLA style back screen — when watching the women’s game against Iowa on Thursday. “My assistant coaches were at the girls’ game, and…
Indiana senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week for the fourth-straight week, while freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The award is the seventh of TJD’s career, breaking the tie with Calbert Cheaney and Steve Alford (six each) for the all-time Hoosier record for Big Ten Player of the Week selections. Alan Henderson and D.J. White are the only other IU players to claim at least five awards. Jackson-Davis also moves into a tie with White for single-season selections with four. The National…
Indiana sophomore center Logan Duncomb had surgery last week to address a major sinus infection, The Daily Hoosier can confirm. Tyler Tachman reported the news first for the Indy Star on Monday afternoon. It is unknown whether Duncomb will return for game action this season. He has not played since Jan. 14. The 6-foot-9 sophomore has not been a part of Indiana’s main rotation this season. He is averaging 2.9 points in nine appearances. Duncomb has played an average of 5.7 minutes in those contests. He produced 10 points and five rebounds in 17 minutes in a game against Elon…
A 2-0 week with wins over Rutgers and Michigan help IU men’s basketball continue to ascend the AP top-25. The Hoosiers are ranked No. 14 in this week’s AP top-25, up four spots from last week’s poll. Leading the way from the Big Ten is Purdue, but the Boilermakers fell out of the top spot to No. 3 after dropping a game to Northwestern on Sunday. IU and Purdue are the only teams from the Big Ten ranked at this time. Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa, Rutgers and Maryland are receiving votes. Indiana travels to Northwestern on Wednesday. The Wildcats are effectively…
Believe it or not, we are less than four weeks away from Selection Sunday 2023, and with that it is time begin our weekly look at where IU basketball stands in the eyes of the bracketologists. With six regular season games plus the Big Ten Tournament remaining, Indiana (18-7, 9-5) is solidly in the NCAA Tournament field at this point. But with a minimum of seven games to go, there is still a wide range of possibilities when it comes to where IU might land in the 2023 March Madness bracket. Because bracketology is such in inexact art, our preferred…
