A new clue came today signaling point guard Xavier Johnson is a step closer to making a return for Indiana. In a photo released by the program (above), Johnson (wearing jersey No. 0) could be seen in full practice gear as IU went through shootaround at Michigan State. Johnson has been shooting around on his own well before games for several weeks, so this does not necessarily mean he will play tonight in East Lansing. But this is the first time he’s been spotted in team activities. Head coach Mike Woodson said last week Johnson was one to two weeks…

The pair whose names adorn the lounge in the IU basketball team room are back in the same uniform. For the first time in ten years, Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller will be teammates. On Monday the Miami Heat announced the signing of Zeller, thereby reuniting the duo who led IU to two of their best seasons in the last 20 years. For Zeller, the moves resuscitates a career. He last appeared in an NBA game more than a year ago — on Jan. 10, 2022. Overall last season he played in 27 games with the Portland Trail Blazers and…
Since he arrived in Bloomington, Indiana fans have been talking about Trayce Jackson-Davis’ jump shot. If he could only make threes, he’d finally be that dominant player who could lead the Hoosiers deep into March, the story went. Truth be told, while it may not be a strength of his game, Jackson-Davis can make threes. But it makes little sense to shoot them when he can dominate in the paint like he has for the last two months. Moreover, if he was making threes in games, Jackson-Davis would have left Indiana for the NBA a long time ago. As it…
It didn’t take long for Indiana to find its next wide receivers coach. And that’s because the IU staff turned to a familiar face. Just days after the news broke Adam Henry was leaving IU to join the Buffalo Bills, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg is reporting Tom Allen will hire Anthony Tucker as his replacement. Tucker is coming to Bloomington after spending two seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Utah State. While there the Aggies were 96th nationally in total offense in 2022, and 19th in 2021. Tucker came to Utah State after spending the previous three years…

The countdown to Selection Sunday 2023 continues. Now just three weeks away, it is time once again for our weekly look at where IU basketball stands in the eyes of the bracketology world. With four regular season games plus the Big Ten Tournament remaining, Indiana (19-8, 10-6) remains solidly in the NCAA Tournament field after losing last week at Northwestern and defeating Illinois in Bloomington. But with a minimum of five games to go, there is still a wide range of possibilities when it comes to where IU might land in the 2023 March Madness bracket. The NCAA gave us…
