Through six games on the circuit, Mustaf is averaging 17.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 30 minutes per contest.  He is wearing No. 3 in the highlights below. Indiana has added in-state forward Ian Stephens as a walk-on in the program. The 6-foot-6 Stephens averaged 15.2 points, and 7.9 rebounds while leading New Palestine H.S. (New Palestine, Ind.) to a school best 23 wins during his 2022-23 senior season.  He was named Associated Press Honorable Mention All-State, All-Hoosier Heritage Conference and All-Hancock County First Team. Transfer portal recruiting is back in full swing for college football. Indiana will have three transfer visitors in Bloomington in the coming days as they look to round out their roster for the 2023 season. So far the Hoosiers have landed Stanford tight end Bradley Archer, and TCU offensive lineman Noah Bolticoff this spring since the portal reopened on April 15. Class of 2024 4-star wing Jonathan Powell says he is down to six schools. The Ohio product told On3’s Joe Tipton on Tuesday he’s considering Indiana, Clemson, Michigan State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Xavier. The 6-foot-6 Powell told Tipton he’d like to wrap up his recruitment by the end of June. Indiana has a close connection with Powell.  He transferred to Centerville H.S. in 2022 and played his junior season there with IU 2023 signee Gabe Cupps. Class of 2024 5-star center Flory Bidunga is a priority target for Indiana. And with Kel’el Ware a good candidate to only spend one year in Bloomington, there is a strong opportunity for IU to present to Bidunga a good case for both a pipeline to the NBA, and immediate playing time. Class of 2024 offensive lineman Mitch Verstegen went public with his verbal commitment to Indiana on Tuesday morning. Verstegen announced his commitment on his Twitter page. “Thank you Coach Allen and Coach Bostad for this amazing opportunity,” Verstegen wrote in a graphic attached to his post.  “I am extremely excited to be an Indiana Hoosier.” A Kaukauna, Wis. product, Verstegen was offered by IU on a visit to Bloomington a couple weeks ago during the program’s Spring Football Saturday event.  He projects as an interior offensive lineman. A former IU 2024 target has come off the board and entered the in-state rivalry. Raleigh Burgess, a four-star power forward, has committed to Purdue. The 6-foot-11, 235-pound junior out of Cincinnati (Ohio) Sycamore chose the Boilermakers on Monday, citing the fit with the staff and proximity to home.  Burgess missed a significant portion of the 2022-23 season with a leg injury.  He has not returned to AAU action. Indiana football is no stranger to being on the wrong side of the college football record books. Last year the Hoosiers became the first program to reach 700 losses all-time. Until a few years ago they had the longest active streak without being ranked in the AP top-25. For the fourth straight year, IU Athletics can claim overall superiority over Purdue. Indiana holds a massive 11.5 to 4.5 edge over the Boilermakers in the annual Governor’s Cup competition with just four points left to be determined through the end of the 2022-23 academic year. Highlighting the win for Indiana were basketball sweeps by both the Hoosier men and women. Since 2001-02, the two schools have conducted an all-sports competition.
