Indiana football announced on its Twitter account Tuesday that it will play a non-conference game against Colorado State on Sept. 5, 2026. It will be the first ever meeting between the two programs. Indiana defensive tackle Jovann Swann will have a tryout with the Pittsburgh Steelers at their mini-camp on May 14-16, his agent Greg Bookey confirmed Sunday. Swann, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive tackle, recorded four tackles and three quarterback hurries last season. At Stanford in 2019, he recorded 4.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss.

Indiana wide receiver Whop Philyor has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings, according to a Twitter report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. A text message to Philyor’s agent from the Daily Hoosier seeking confirmation was not immediately returned. Philyor led the Big Ten with 54 receptions in 2020 and was ninth in receiving yards with 495. In 2019, he caught 70 passes for 1002 yards and five touchdowns, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors from the conference’s coaches and third-team honors from its media. Indiana running back Stevie Scott signed an undrafted free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints, and defensive tackle Jerome Johnson signed with the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night, according to their agent Joe Vaccaro. In 2020, Johnson became the first Indiana defensive tackle since Hurvin McCormack in 1993 to earn first-team All-Big Ten honors. Indiana safety Jamar Johnson was selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday by the Denver Broncos with the 164th overall pick. He’s the first Indiana player taken in this year’s draft. Johnson recorded 43 tackles including 3.5 for loss this season and led the Hoosiers with four interceptions. He also recorded four pass break-ups. The 6-foot-1, 197-pounder from Sarasota, Fla., was named first-team All-Big Ten by the conference’s media and second-team by the coaches.
