IU women’s basketball signee Addy Nyemchek has been named a McDonald’s All-American.
This is the first time in program history a high school commit has earned this prestigious honor. IU has had multiple transfers who previously played in the McDonald’s All-American Game, including Zania Socka-Nguemen (2024) and Sydney Parrish (2020). But Nyemchek is Indiana’s first high school signee to be selected.
The 6-foot-2 guard is rated a four-star recruit and the No. 28 overall player in the class of 2026 by ESPN, making her one of the highest-rated commits in IU women’s basketball history. Nyemchek, an Oceanport, N.J. native, is averaging 19.7 points per game this year as a senior for Red Bank Catholic. She’s the top-rated player out of New Jersey in her recruiting class.
Nyemchek is one of the headliners of IU women’s basketball’s touted recruiting class of 2026. Guard GiGi Battle, another New Jersey native, is ranked No. 32 by ESPN. And guard Ashlinn James is rated No. 64. All three profile as players who could contribute immediately for Teri Moren’s team next year. Australian center Zoe Jackson enrolled early and is already with the program, though she is likely redshirting. ESPN doesn’t include international players in its rankings, typically.
