Now that Rivals and On3 have joined 247Sports with updated class of 2023 basketball player rankings after the spring, let’s take a look at where all three national outlets place IU’s primary recruiting targets in the rising senior class.

With a point guard (Gabe Cupps) and combo guard (Jakai Newton), Indiana is clearly focused on adding the combination of length and outside shooting ability when it comes to rounding out the class with two or three more players.

While there is a long way to go, Indiana’s two-man class is currently No. 6 nationally according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Here is a look at the main targets IU is chasing, and their latest rankings according to the three outlets.  The addition of two or three players from this group would likely keep the Hoosiers in the top-15 in the 2023 class when the dust settles.

Note:  ESPN has not updated their 2023 rankings.

    Xavier Booker – 5-star

Booker has gone from outside the top-100 to consensus top-10 5-star in a year.

    • 247Sports – 3
    • Rivals – 2
    • On3 – 8

    K.J. Evans – 5-star

Evans remains a 5-star, but does IU remain in the hunt?

    • 247Sports – 8
    • Rivals – 14
    • On3 – 11

    Andrej Stojakovic – 4-star

Stojakovic is one of the highest-risers in the class, and a highly coveted outside shooter.

    • 247Sports – 24
    • Rivals – 31
    • On3 – 35

    TJ Power – 4-star

Power has a versatile inside-out game who could make an attractive power forward option in the modern game.

    • 247Sports – 54
    • Rivals – 63
    • On3 – 88

    Arrinten Page – 4-star

Page has also risen from unknown to high major during the spring, and he’s the closest to a center IU is targeting.

    • 247Sports -57
    • Rivals – 45
    • On3 – 120

    Coen Carr – 4-star

Carr is an elite athlete whose spring was set back by an injury.  He isn’t known as a shooter which could be a limiting factor for IU.

    • 247Sports – 60
    • Rivals – 78
    • On3 – 45

    Jamie Kaiser – 4-star

Kaiser is yet another late bloomer.  A very good shooter, IU is pushing for a visit but in-state Maryland is formidable.

    • 247Sports – 77
    • Rivals – 142
    • On3 – 39

    Jakai Newton – 4-star (commit)

    • 247Sports – 78
    • Rivals – 55
    • On3 – 66

    Gabe Cupps – 4-star (commit)

    • 247Sports – 105
    • Rivals – 130
    • On3 – 99
