Indiana continues to trend favorably for the No. 1 ranked wide receiver in the 2027 class.
Two Rivals national analysts logged predictions on Thursday for IU to land in-state 5-star wideout Monshun Sales.
The 6-foot-5 Sales is a consensus 5-star, consensus top-4 receiver, and consensus top-16 overall player in the 2027 class. If he picks Indiana, he will be the highest-rated IU recruit in the rankings era by a wide margin.
This development comes not long after a national analyst at another outlet said he liked Indiana’s chances with Sales. 247Sports’ Tom Noy says IU and Texas are the current most likely schools to land Sales.
In 10 games as a junior at Lawrence North H.S. (Indianapolis, Ind.), Sales caught 37 passes for 794 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 21.5 yards per catch. He plays on both sides of the ball. As a safety he posted 56 tackles.
Indiana just put two wide receivers in the NFL Draft, including first-rounder Omar Cooper, Jr., who also attended Lawrence North. Elijah Sarratt was chosen in the fourth round, and two other receivers with the 2025 IU team — E.J. Williams and Jonathan Brady — are currently under contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The finalists for Sales include Alabama, Indiana, Miami, Ohio State and Texas. Sales took an IU official visit in late April and has official visits scheduled for all of the other schools.
That’s the next sign to look for. If he takes all of his visits, Sales’ recruitment could have plenty of twists and turns ahead. But if he starts cancelling them and sets a commitment date earlier than his current July plan, then there’s another strong indication he could be Bloomington-bound.
