Former IU basketball star Cody Zeller made a return visit to Bloomington this week.
The program’s X account posted some photos of Zeller, including with new head coach Darian DeVries.
Zeller was at IU for a year when assistant coach Kenny Johnson did his first tour in that role from 2012-14. He can be seen with Johnson below as well.
The Washington, Ind. product played 36 games as a sophomore and averaged a team-best 16.5 points and 8.1 rebounds for IU in 2012-13. His 594 points that year were the 19th-most in a single-season in IU history.
After two seasons, Zeller finished with 1,157 career points at IU, putting him in 36th place on the career scoring list at the time. He was a lottery pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Zeller was preceded by one year by assistant coach Drew Adams’ first time working on the IU staff from 2009-11. Adams was on the staff that successfully recruited Zeller to Indiana.
Below you can see Adams mic’d up at a recent practice, via the IU basketball X account.
A Bloomington native, Adams came to IU from Cincinnati. All four of DeVries’ assistant coaches arrive after holding the same title at other high major programs.
