UPDATE:  Tipton now says this Alabama visit has been cancelled.  Stay tuned.

There was considerable social media buzz on Thursday evening as rumors circulated regarding a potential commitment by Oregon transfer center Kel’el Ware during his IU official visit.

But Ware did not commit on the spot.  Instead, he’s off to Alabama for another visit according to a report by Joe Tipton of On3.  Tipton says Ware’s Alabama visit will take place on Saturday.

Sources tell The Daily Hoosier Ware’s IU visit went very well and the Hoosiers are a strong contender to land the 7-footer.

The Little Rock, Ark. product was a national top-10 5-star recruit in the class of 2022.

Ware would fill a significant need at center for IU following the departure of first team All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Harvard transfer Chris Ledlum has also been in Bloomington this weekend.  He’s expected to go to Tennessee for his next visit.
