The first sign that we’ve turned the page to a new season of IU basketball arrived on Tuesday.

As is tradition, the players for this season’s team arrived on campus over the last week, and they began summer workouts with the staff this week.

The program released the below photos of the team on its social media accounts.

Most of the team is participating in workouts right now.  Trey Galloway is still rehabbing from offseason knee surgery.

The photos include the first look at Arizona transfer center Oumar Ballo and Illinois transfer wing Luke Goode in official Indiana team apparel.

Also included is a photo of redshirt freshman guard Jakai Newton, who has battled back for more than two years from a knee injury suffered in May of 2022 and is now fully cleared for all activities.

Finally, a photo was included of what has become a tradition during the Mike Woodson era, with the team rubbing on the head of the now fourth year head coach.  Washington State transfer guard Myles Rice can be seen hugging Woodson in that photo.

The newly constructed IU roster is widely viewed as a top-25 team going into the 2024-25 season.
