    IU women’s basketball announced its complete 2022-23 schedule

    Indiana women’s basketball announced its complete 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

    The Hoosiers non-conference slate is highlighted by seven home games including its ACC/Big Ten challenge matchup against North Carolina on Dec. 1. The season officially begins on November 8 when the team hosts Vermont.

    Indiana hits the road on Nov. 14 when they travel to Thompson-Boling Arena to face traditional power Tennessee.  Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Indiana will play in the inaugural Las Vegas Invitational where it meets Auburn (Nov. 25) and Memphis (Nov. 26).

    Big Ten action begins on Dec. 4 when IU welcomes Illinois to Bloomington before traveling to Penn State on Dec. 8.  In total, each Big Ten team will play an 18-game conference schedule for the fourth time in five seasons, facing five opponents both home and away and playing the eight remaining schools once.

    Indiana is coming off its second-straight NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance and finished 24-7 overall in 2021-22.

    All-Americans Grace Berger and Mackenzie Holmes return for the Hoosiers, who will add seven newcomers to the fold in 2022-23, including high profile transfers Sara Scalia (Minnesota) and Sydney Parrish (Oregon).  In Berger, Holmes and Scalia, IU will have three players who averaged more than 15 points per game last season.

    IU was ranked No. 12 in ESPN’s latest offseason top-25, trailing only Iowa (No. 6).  IU and Iowa will play twice, with both games coming in February.  IU will also see No. 15 Ohio State twice, but will face No. 18 Maryland and No. 22 Nebraska each just once, both in Bloomington.

    Head coach Teri Moren enters her ninth season at the helm of the program, who holds a 172-89 record in eight seasons.
