Transfer portal recruiting is back in full swing for college football.

Indiana will have three transfer visitors in Bloomington in the coming days as they look to round out their roster for the 2023 season.

So far the Hoosiers have landed Stanford tight end Bradley Archer, and TCU offensive lineman Noah Bolticoff this spring since the portal reopened on April 15.

Here’s a quick look at the next three coming in for a visit.

    Oregon outside linebacker Anthony Jones

Former Oregon outside linebacker Anthony Jones will visit IU next Monday.

The 6-foot-3 and 243 pound Jones utilized a redshirt while appearing in two games as a true freshman in Eugene.  He saw action at Colorado (Nov. 5) and in the SDCCU Holiday Bowl vs. North Carolina (Dec. 28).  Jones played eight total snaps as a freshman according to Pro Football Focus.  He made one solo tackle in collegiate debut at Colorado.

Jones was classified positionally as an athlete coming out of high school.  A three-star prospect out of Liberty High School in Las Vegas, Jones was ranked No. 622 overall and the No. 40 athlete in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Jones should have four years of eligibility remaining.

    Utah State cornerback Ajani Carter

Indiana is trying for a second time to land Ajani Carter.  He visited IU in 2018 as a high school prospect and will be back on Wednesday.

The Utah State cornerback started nine of the 10 games he played in during the 2022 season.  He finished with 44 tackles (29-solo, 15-assist), which included 1.0 tackles for loss, to go along with five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one interception and one quarterback hurry.  He had at least three tackles in nine of the 10 games he played in.

As a junior Carter played in 13 games and finished the season with 45 tackles (23-solo, 22-assist), which included 2.0 sacks and 3.0 tackles for loss, to go along with three interceptions, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

The 6-foot and 195 pound Carter switched from wide receiver to defensive back while in college.  He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Carter was a three-star recruit according to 247Sports out of North Shore High School in Houston, Texas.

Iowa Western Community College DB JoJo Johnson

JoJo Johnson is a name that may be familiar to some.

The Merrillville, Ind. product started his career at Notre Dame.

The 5-foot-11 and 190 pound Johnson had 16 tackles, three interceptions and two pass breakups in nine games in 2022.  Iowa Western won the 2022 NJCAA national championship with one of the best defenses in the country.

As a freshman in 2021 for Notre Dame, Johnson had his season cut short by a torn ACL in September.

Coming out of Merrillville, Johnson was a 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite.

Johnson has three years of eligibility remaining.
