According to the On3 Industry average rankings, Gibbs is a 3-star, No. 778 overall, the No. 62 linebacker, and the No. 6 player in the state of Indiana.
During his junior season, Gibbs hauled in 35 passes for 600 yards as a tight end while recording 60 tackles and three interceptions as a linebacker/edge rusher. He’ll probably play tight end in college and would be the first tight end commit for IU in the 2026 class. The Hoosiers already have two projected linebackers.
Indiana now has eight verbal commits in the 2026 class. Gibbs is the third player from Indiana. Here are the seven other players in the class, with links to their profiles.
- Henry Ohlinger, Columbus, Ohio, LB/RB (4-star)
- Kasmir Hicks, Indianapolis, Indiana, CB/WR (3-star)
- Jay Timmons, Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, DB (3-star)
- Blake Smythe, Franklin, Indiana, DL (3-star)
- Sam Simpson, River Falls, Wisconsin, IOL (3-star)
- Jacob Savage, Union, Kentucky, LB (3-star)
- Rodney White, Towson, Maryland, DL (3-star)
