Indiana football has added one of the top offensive linemen in the 2027 class.
Noblesville, Ind. based offensive tackle Mason McDermott announced his verbal pledge to the Hoosiers during his official visit this weekend.
“After an incredible OV and conversations with my family, I’m excited to announce my commitment to Indiana,” McDermott wrote on X.
The 6-foot-7 and 290-pound Noblesville H.S. product is a 4-star prospect, the No. 271 overall player in the 2027 class, No. 22 offensive lineman, and No. 4 player in the state of Indiana.
McDermott picked IU over offers from UCLA, Northwestern, BYU, Missouri, Cincinnati, Florida State, Iowa, North Carolina, Purdue, West Virginia, and others.
“When it came down to it, the coaches made it clear from the beginning that they saw me as a key piece in helping continue the success they’re building,” McDermott told Rivals national analyst Steve Wiltfong. “After talking with Coach Cignetti again and spending more time around the players, everything just felt natural. It’s been a great recruiting process, but I’m ready to be a Hoosier.”
