IU football picked up its first offensive line commit in the 2027 class.
Michigan City H.S.’s Jeremiah Jones announced his commitment to the Hoosiers this weekend.
“Thank you to the coaches at Indiana for this opportunity,” Jones said. “I’m blessed to say I’ve been offered by and have chosen to commit to Indiana University. Excited to be a Hoosier!!”
The 6-foot-6 and 284-pound offensive tackle hails from Michigan City, Ind. He’s the first in-state recruit in IU’s 2027 class.
Jones also had offers from Miami (Ohio), Toledo and Western Michigan. He is not currently ranked, although that often changes when players start receiving Power 4 offers, especially high profile offers like Indiana.
Jones visited Indiana this weekend and announced an offer from the national champions. It was his first Power Four offer.
Jones was named All-State by the Indiana Football Coaches Association following his junior season in 2025.
Indiana now has five commits in the 2027 class. Here are the other four:
- Monsanna Torbert, Cincinnati, Ohio, ATH (4-star)
- Ja’Hyde Brown, Louisville, Ky., WR (4-star)
- Jamison Purcell, Park Ridge, Ill., QB (3-star)
- Garyon Hobbs, Louisville, Ky., S/ATH (3-star)
