Indiana and the Ducks tip-off at noon ET on BTN.

    ———————————————————————–

    FINAL: Oregon 72, Indiana 59

    SECOND HALF

Oregon leads 61-54 with 3:06 left to play.

    • Hoosiers continue to struggle in their final minutes of games. They’ve missed their last six from the field, and Leal missed the front end on two bonus opportunities. Do or die situation in the final three minutes.
    • IU has made such a conscious effort on limiting Nate Bittle that they’ve gotten burnt by TJ Bamba by multiple occasions. 17 points on the game for him, and hits the potential dagger over Mgbako.

IU trails 56-54 with 7:18 left to play.

    • A few key buckets there by both Reneau and Galloway. Each have 10 second half points and have led the Hoosiers offensively in the game.
    • It’s important that Indiana continues to limit Bittle’s touches heading down the stretch. Can’t let him get hot at the wrong time.

The Ducks lead 50-47 with 10:22 left.

    • Hoosiers are hanging around, but still haven’t gotten anything consistent to form on offense yet. Reneau, Galloway and Mgbako are all in double figures, but Mgbako has to sit with three fouls.
    • Oregon’s Nate Bittle has been shut down by Indiana’s defense so far. He only has seven points on 2-7 shooting. He’s been taken outside of the low block a handful of times in this game. Good preparation on him.

Oregon leads 41-37 with 15:26 left in the game.

    • As solid as Oumar Ballo has been in the paint, he’s also had his fair share of blunders. He has eight points on 4-11 shooting and three turnovers. Missed an easy opportunity at the rim in the last series. Reneau to check in.
    • Still, IU has made a nice effort to draw close in the early stages of the second half. Galloway has four points early and leads the team with nine points in the game.

It only took them a minute and a half, and Indiana is now within two. Quick 6-0 run to get the Hoosiers within striking distance.

    HALFTIME: Oregon 37, Indiana 29

    FIRST HALF:

Oregon ends the half on a 10-0 run. Hoosiers have work to do.

Tied at 27 with 3:42 left in the half.

    • Mackenzie Mgbako has had an efficient game, shooting 3-for-3 from the field, good for seven points. However, he picked up his second foul in the last sequence and had to go to the bench. It would be smart to leave him out.
    • Oregon continues to be efficient from the field, as they still sit at 50%. Jackson Shelstad is up to double-figures with 10 points.

All tied up at 23 heading into the final 6:48 of the half.

    • Indiana has continued to play good defense, but Oregon is starting to heat up, hitting their last three from the field. Brandon Angel has hit two straight threes to get the Ducks tied.
    • Malik Reneau is also starting to find a groove on the offensive end for Indiana. He has seven points on 3-6 shooting. He only scored eight in the first matchup between the two.

Hoosiers maintain a 17-13 lead with 11:37 left in the half.

    • Indiana has done a nice job on the defensive end so far. They’ve forced five turnovers on Oregon, and the Ducks are at .813 points per possession.
    • IU has gone a bit cold on their offensive end, however. They’re 7-18 from the field as a team so far, and have also turned it over three times.

Indiana leads 10-9 through the first media timeout. 15:29 to play in the first half.

    • Hoosiers have looked solid offensively to start out. Mackenzie Mgbako leads the team with five points, and Indiana has knocked down two from the outside. A few turnovers have limited their chance to increase their lead.
    • Galloway knocked one down from three and has also added two assists and a rebound. Making his presence known early.

    PREGAME NOTES:

    • No surprises on Indiana’s availability report, with Jakai Newton and Gabe Cupps the only players OUT today.
    • I am not present at the game today, but from what I have seen online, there’s a significant amount of IU fans in Indy today. Probably favors a home crowd atmosphere for the Hoosiers.
    • No changes in the starting lineup from the past few games: Leal, Galloway, Goode, Mgbako and Ballo
