    ———————————————————————–

    FINAL: Indiana 84 – Maryland 66

    Image

    SECOND HALF

IU up 75-62 with 4:18 to play.

    • Maryland trying to make things interesting here. They’ve started to chip away at Indiana’s lead with a few outside shots. They’ve also had to deal with foul trouble, though, with Darius Adams fouling out and a few of their players with three.
    • When Lamar Wilkerson is playing confidently, there are few players better than him. Just when you think he only does damage from beyond the arc, he makes you pay with a poster. Unreal player.

Indiana leads 69-52 with 7:46 left.

    • The Hoosiers now have four players in double-figures, with Reed Bailey joining Conerway, Enright, and Wilkerson. He’s still struggling with some touch around the rim, but has made all six of his free throws.
    • Tucker DeVries has once again had a quiet night. He has five points, but has been limited by foul trouble. He picked up his fourth in the second half and has seen a good chunk of time on the bench.

Hoosiers beginning to pull away. 61-44 with 11:04 to play.

    • Lamar Wilkerson is now starting to heat up. He’s up to 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Sometimes he comes out of nowhere, but he can make an impact at any given moment.
    • Maryland is having a hard time hitting shots. They’re two for their last ten, and are 40 percent overall on the night. They’ve gotten some looks, but Indiana is playing a pretty sound defensive game so far tonight.

Indiana leads 48-40 with 15:55 left to play.

    • A completely new half is going on in College Park. Both teams are now pushing the pace on offense, and not a ton of defense is being played. Indiana got the better end of it, with Lamar Wilkerson getting a chance at a four-point play heading into the timeout.
    • However, it’s been Conor Enright with a nice start to the half for the Hoosiers. He’s knocked down two from beyond the arc to start the half and has 12 on the night. Between this game and the last, he’s definitely looking to take more shots on offense.

    HALFTIME: Indiana 36 – Maryland 31

    Image

    FIRST HALF

IU leads 30-26 with three minutes in the half.

    • Indiana has not played an excellent game offensively, but they have forced some mistakes on the defensive side of the ball against Maryland. The Terps have seven turnovers and have yet to make a three-pointer.
    • Tayton Conerway leads all scorers with 11. His ability to change pace has caught Maryland sleeping a few times. IU is still just 2-of-12 from beyond the arc tonight.

Hoosiers take their first lead at 17-16, with 7:41 to go in the half.

    • Pretty messy game from both sides so far, but Indiana is starting to gain a bit of momentum. Even though they’re still 29 percent from the field, they’ve taken advantage of some fouls by Maryland. Tayton Conerway has two free throws coming out of the timeout.
    • Trent Sisley has picked up two fouls, which takes some size depth away from the Hoosiers. Alexis has yet to pick up a foul, and Bailey has one.

Terps ahead 14-9 with 11:52 to go.

    • Indiana is still a bit stagnant on offense. Maryland is bringing some high-ball pressure, which has limited IU’s ability to let the long ball fly. Enright has had some success getting to the cup, but the Hoosiers are still 3-for-11 from the field.
    • Maryland also has the early rebounding lead at 8-4, and they’re 6-of-10 from the field. IU has forced three early turnovers, though.

Maryland leads 8-5 with 15:15 to go in the half.

    • Slow start for the Hoosiers offensively. They’ve gone 2-of-6 from the field and have a turnover. Meanwhile, Maryland has made their last three from the field and is trying to target Indiana’s lack of size, even with Payne out.
    • I had a feeling IU may have a tough time breaking this game open early, and that’s what it looks like early on. Indiana has yet to win a true away game this season.

    PREGAME NOTES

    • Jasai Miles will be unavailable tonight for Indiana, along with Josh Harris and Jason Drake. Pharrel Payne, who leads Maryland in scoring, is OUT for the Terps.
    • Another reunion in the second straight game. Myles Rice is suiting up for Maryland this season. The former Hoosier is averaging 7.9 ppg.
    • Starters for IU: Enright, Conerway, Wilkerson, DeVries, Alexis
