Indiana and the Lions tip off at 6:00 p.m. ET on BTN.

    FINAL: Indiana 73 – Lindenwood 53

    Image

    SECOND HALF

Indiana up 67-46 with 3:08 to play.

    • It looks like another win in the books for the Hoosiers. I was impressed by IU’s response to Lindenwood’s start to the half. It picked up the energy in Assembly Hall in the process, for sure.
    • Nearly every player who has entered the game has scored for Indiana, apart from Jasai Miles. DeVries and Wilkerson are still the only double-figure scorers to this point.

IU ahead 62-38 with 7:13 to play.

    • Indiana has opened things up now, largely off the back of Tucker DeVries. He’s got 23 to lead all scorers. Wilkerson, even with an inefficient night, has reached double figures with 10.
    • The Hoosiers have looked really solid defensively all night, apart from the early stages of the second half. Lindenwood has shot just 23% from the field.

Hoosiers lead 48-31 with 11:59 left.

    • Indiana has stepped it up offensively and has matched that with some good defense to stretch their lead out again. Tucker DeVries has five second-half points, and Alexis has four.
    • Overall, it’s still a pretty slow night for Indiana’s standard on offense. 36 percent from the field and 6-20 from beyond the arc. Hasn’t looked pretty the last couple of times out.

Indiana is scoreless to start the half. It’s 34-28 with 16:56 left.

    • IU is getting outhustled to start this half. They’ve gotten some open looks on offense, but can’t convert, and they’re getting back slow on defense, and Lindenwood has capitalized.
    • Lamar Wilkerson’s shot has been off the past two games. He’s just 2-12 from the field tonight and 0-5 from beyond the arc. Only scored nine against Incarnate Word.

    HALFTIME: Indiana 34 – Lindenwood 18

    FIRST HALF

IU up 33-14 with 3:34 in the first.

    • It really seems sometimes that Indiana does everything right defensively, but then shoots itself in the foot by not getting a rebound. Lindenwood has 12 offensive rebounds to IU’s 4 so far. That’s something that has to get fixed before the Big Ten season.
    • On the bright side, the Hoosiers have opened up offensively a bit. They’re on a 6-0 run heading into the timeout and are now 5-12 from three.

Indiana leads 25-11 with 7:11 in the half.

    • I have to give credit to Lindenwood in this one. They’re making IU run. If they hit shots, this would be a much different game. The Hoosiers are doing a good job on defense still. The Lions are 13% from the field.
    • Indiana seemed to be aware of this tempo, though. They’ve made some quick substitutions throughout the game. Alexis, Dorn, and Sisley have all seen plenty of action early on.

IU up 12-4 with 11:32 left in the half.

    • IU’s set offense has looked very stagnant in the early going, similar to their last outing. They’ve worked in transition fine, but their more designed plays have not seemed very clean. Not sure if I can necessarily pinpoint why.
    • It’s been slow from a numbers standpoint as well. Indiana is 5-14 to open up the game with two made threes.

Hoosiers lead 7-0 through the first timeout, 15:15 to play.

    • Obviously, a pretty good showing from the Hoosiers from a defensive standpoint so far. Lindenwood’s players certainly have some athleticism to them, though, and have gotten some decent looks.
    • Indiana is leading the rebounding margin early, 8-3. It’s certainly looking to be an emphasis in the early going.

    PREGAME NOTES

    • No difference in the starting lineup for IU: Enright, Conerway, Wilkerson, DeVries, Bailey
    • Not surprising, given Thanksgiving break, but the student crowd tonight is nothing spectacular. Shouldn’t be much of a factor tonight, but in a bigger game like Kansas State next Tuesday, that’s something to keep an eye on.
