IU basketball recruiting: Hoosiers offer 2024 national top-25 wing Annor Boateng

The wave of IU basketball offers continues following the first live recruiting period of 2023.

Indiana has offered class of 2024 wing Annor Boateng from Arkansas.

Boateng announced the IU offer on his social media accounts on Monday evening.

The Little Rock product was the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year following the 2022-23 season.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound junior forward averaged 15.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game this past season, leading the Little Rock Central H.S. to a 24-7 record and the quarterfinals of the 6A state tournament.

According to the On3 Consensus, Boateng is a 4-star prospect, the No. 22 overall player in the class of 2024, and the No. 4 shooting guard.

For AAU basketball, Boateng plays for the Arkansas Hawks program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.

Intensity might be the defining aspect of Boateng’s overall game.  With his athleticism and strength, he is a high-level perimeter defender, and on the offensive end he is aggressive attacking the basket.  Of late Boateng has shown he can be a true three-level scorer.  He made a bunch of threes over the weekend at the Adidas 3SSB event.  You can watch highlights of that below.

Along with IU, thus far Boateng has high major offers from Auburn, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, LSU, TCU, Arizona State, Memphis, Virginia Tech, Houston, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.

Missouri, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and LSU are likely the toughest competition for Boateng to this point, but he probably won’t decide until late summer or into the fall.

If Indiana can get him on campus, they’ve got a chance.  So far he has been on a junior year official visit to Auburn, with the rest to be determined.  He has also taken unofficial visits to Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Missouri.
