IU basketball recruiting: 2024 shooting guard Austin Swartz rescheduled his Indiana visit

Class of 2024 4-star shooting guard Austin Swartz has a new date for his Indiana official visit.

The 6-foot-4 Swartz will now head to Bloomington on Sept. 15.

The news was reported by Jamie Shaw of On3, and Swartz confirmed the news with The Daily Hoosier.

Swartz originally scheduled his IU visit Aug. 18-20, but that ended up in a recruiting dead period window once the NCAA updated its calendar.

According to Shaw’s report, Swartz still intends to take the following visits along with Indiana:

    Miami, Aug. 25
    Georgia, Sept. 1
    Florida State, Sept. 8
    UConn, Sept. 22
    Virginia Tech, Sept 29

He’s already visited Clemson and Tennessee.

The guard narrowed his recruitment down to eight programs in July.  The Hoosiers are battling it out with Miami, Clemson, UConn, Florida State, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Virginia Tech.

Swartz checks in at 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds out of Concord, N.C. He indicated in June that he was looking to take an official visit to IU. The Hoosiers offered him in April.

The On3 Average ranks Swartz at No. 39 overall in the class of 2024, and the No. 9 shooting guard in the class.

Swartz told The Daily Hoosier in June that Kenya Hunter and Adam Howard have led IU’s recruiting efforts for him. He said they’ve emphasized what they did for Jalen Hood-Schifino — who also played high school basketball in North Carolina before moving down to Montverde — and that they could get him to the same level.
