Indiana football had plenty of players transfer out of the program in between the 2024 and 2025 seasons, just like everyone in the sport.
Those outbound transfers had very mixed results at their new destinations — and, certainly, none of them achieved the level of team success that Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers reached this year. Here is a roundup of how those players performed this season.
Donaven McCulley, WR, Michigan
After a tumultuous end to his IU career, McCulley landed at Big Ten rival Michigan. He had a solid year with the Wolverines, finishing as their second-leading receiver with 534 yards on 35 catches with three touchdowns. He should be set to play for UM in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.
Tayven Jackson, QB, UCF
Jackson was UCF’s starting quarterback this season, but it was an unremarkable campaign. He finished 12th in the Big 12 with 195.5 passing yards per game, with 10 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. Jackson rushed for 85 yards on 54 attempts with three touchdowns, and he also caught one touchdown on a trick play. The Knights finished 5-7 overall, with a 2-7 conference record.
Brody Foley, TE, Tulsa
Foley never caught a pass in his two years at Indiana, but he broke out this year at Tulsa. The junior earned first team All-AAC honors and finished as the Golden Hurricane’s leading receiver, posting 37 receptions for 528 yards and seven touchdowns.
Jamier Johnson, CB, UCLA
Johnson was one of the bigger names to leave the Hoosiers last year, after starting at cornerback for most of the 2024 season. The redshirt senior landed at conference foe UCLA, but didn’t see the field all year for the Bruins.
