Class of 2025 5-star Jalen Haralson will take Indiana official visit on August 31

Indiana will get a senior-year official visit from highly coveted 5-star guard/wing Jalen Haralson in a couple months.

According to a report by Dushawn London for the 247Sports national desk, Haralson will visit IU the weekend of August 31.  He’ll then visit Notre Dame and Michigan State the following two weekends.

August 31 in Bloomington is the season opener for IU football against Florida International.

Indiana and head coach Mike Woodson have been pursuing Haralson since before he played his first high school basketball game as a freshman at Fishers H.S. in the northeast suburbs of Indianapolis.  He now attends La Lumiere in northern Indiana.

“I was Coach Woodson’s first offer in our class of any player, and they’ve been recruiting me the longest,” Haralson told The Daily Hoosier last month.  “Maryland offered me first but that coaching staff left, so IU was really my first offer that I’m still talking to. Obviously I’ve been down there a whole lot of times with my brother, so I know a lot about the program. I’m looking to go down there and talk to them more about my development in their program.

“The fan base is crazy. You can’t beat that fan base. It’s very passionate. I think that’s the thing that sticks out the most. And obviously Coach Woodson is an NBA coach and that’s where I want to be. He got me connected with Jalen Hood-Schifino, and me and him talked a couple weeks ago.”

The 6-foot-6 Haralson named a top-nine a couple months ago.  He’s been one of the top players on the Nike EYBL this spring, averaging 21.4 points per game.

Haralson is the fourth high-profile recruiting target to schedule an IU official visit in the coming months.  He’ll be followed by Braylon Mullins, Trent Sisley and Malachi Moreno, who will all visit the weekend of September 20.
