Watch as 2 News WDTN profiled the legacy of IU freshman Gabe Cupps. The 2022 Ohio Mr. Basketball and 2021 state champion played for his father at Centerville H.S. just outside of Dayton, Ohio. As a senior at Centerville, Cupps averaged 15.4 points, 6.2 assists, 1.9 turnovers, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. He shot 49.5 percent overall, 39.5 percent from three (on 119 attempts), and 91.6 percent from the free throw line. Former IU basketball great Steve Alford was in northern Indiana this week for his family’s basketball camp affiliated with Huntington University. In an interview with WANE TV, Alford discusses the camp, the recent changes in college basketball, Bob Knight, and more. Alford graduated as IU’s all-time leading scorer. He is currently the head coach at Nevada.
