Indiana University football wide receiver Nick Westbrook had a huge 2016 season. Despite missing virtually the entire 2017 season, his performance has not been lost on the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, which released this year’s preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award. Westbrook was one of three Big Ten Conference receivers that were included on the 2018 Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list that was released on Thursday. The other two Big Ten receivers are both from Nebraska — Stanley Morgan, Jr. and JD Spielman. The Florida native caught 54 passes for 995 yards and six touchdowns in 2016. He led the team…

Sports press conferences are notoriously void of any real substance. You can usually anticipate the “we just need to take it one game at a time” before the words are uttered. Former Indiana University forward Collin Hartman, who had a memorable career with IU, was just like every other athlete playing a major sport in that regard. After a forgettable blowout loss lost year against Fort Wayne, Hartman and the others who met with the media said “we didn’t come out ready” in about twelve different ways as they waited to be released from the podium. You can’t blame the…
Indiana University has announced the date for the annual Hoosier Hysteria event that marks the tipoff for the 2018-19 men’s and women’s basketball season. The event will occur on September 29 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Recent NCAA rule changes permit practice to now begin 42 days prior to the first scheduled game. This should mean that IU’s first game is right around Friday, November 9. It was no secret that the Indiana University basketball coaching staff wanted D.J. Carton in a big way. It is also no secret that in high-level recruiting wars you miss more times than you hit. It is time to move on. With up to a four player recruiting class for 2019, IU is most likely looking to sign at least two guards in the group. Despite having a true point in the 2018 class, Archie Miller seems intent on adding another to the 2019 class. That doesn’t reflect any concerns about Rob Phinisee. He is going to be a key…

THE NIKE EYBL The only primary IU targets that IU has already offered that advanced into the weekend at the Peach Jam were Isaiah Stewart of City Rocks and Anthony Harris of Team Takeover. This is the third in a five-part series on the historic home courts of the Indiana University basketball program. Today we take a look at the third home of the Hoosiers — the Old Fieldhouse. A New Shrine Symbolizing a Growing Statewide Hysteria… By the mid-1920’s, basketball in Indiana had grown from a new sport to a statewide obsession in just over 30 years. Similarly, the Indiana University men’s basketball program had become nationally significant, and in many ways the epicenter of the game in the Hoosier state. The growth of the game and the IU program meant that the…
D.J. Carton has committed to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He made the announcement via Twitter: https://twitter.com/DJCarton/status/1018211848330588160 After completing official visits to Michigan, Indiana and Ohio State over the last few weeks, five-star class of 2019 point guard D.J. Carton has surprised many with this announcement. Most analysts saw Indiana and Michigan in the lead with perhaps a slight edge to the Wolverines. The 247 Sports crystal ball had Carton 100% to Michigan before analysts starting changing their picks today. Carton saw his profile accelerate significantly over the last year. He narrowed his list to six schools in the…
