The one-and-done former IU star was traded to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday as part of a four-team deal including the Timberwolves, Hawks and Rockets.  Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reported the news. Robert Covington will head to Houston and Clint Capela will go to Atlanta as the headliners of the trade, with at least nine other players and draft picks involved as well. In a reserve role, Vonleh averaged 4.1 points and 4.0 rebounds over 12.0 minutes with the Timberwolves in 29 games.  He had not seen any…

Which player or players are the leaders of this program?  We wrote about the apparent lack of true floor leadership just months into Miller’s first season, and to all appearances, not much has changed in the last two years. Someone else that has been talking about it is a person who has seen this Indiana basketball program up close and personal for more than 40 years. IU had three scorers in double figures.  Redshirt junior guard Ali Patberg flirted with a triple double finishing with 17 points, nine rebounds and…

Okay, let’s get the cliche out of the way first.  No, of course technically Indiana (15-7, 5-6) does not have to beat Purdue on Saturday to make the NCAA Tournament. Contention for a top four spot in the Big Ten standings, a run in the Big Ten Tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16 — all of that seems silly to be talking about at this point. Unless head coach Archie Miller is…

A season in crisis? That might be overstating where things stand, but now on their first three game losing streak of the season, Indiana is clearly a team heading in the wrong direction at the wrong time. After losing 12 out of 13 during the 2018-19 season, it is impossible to not wonder if things are headed down the same path now. This is a different team and a different season, but the attributes that gave the Hoosiers an identity early on seem to be fading, and the issues that IU struggled to escape last year seem to be resurfacing.…
