Mind games?  Lazy?  Oh my. You have to wonder if Illinois junior guard Ayo Dosunmu realized that his team plays Indiana again in just over a month. But after the way Donsunmu played in the second half on Saturday afternoon in Champaign, perhaps he just doesn’t care. There is no debate from either side of Saturday’s game who the difference maker was. “When it’s time to put the other team away, I try to do that,” Dosunmu said. “Ayo played at a MVP level tonight,” IU head coach Archie Miller said. After two Big Ten contests a troubling trend has emerged. Indiana is playing hard and keeping things close.  But they haven’t been good down the stretch. And now IU finds itself 0-2 in league play. Indiana (5-4) will face Penn State next for what has the early feel of a must win game.  That contest tips at 8:30 p.m. ET at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington on Wednesday. OVERALL (C) It…

Armaan Franklin only needed one word to describe why Indiana was just 16-of-40 (40 percent) from two-point range on Saturday afternoon in Illinois. “Kofi,” Franklin said when asked about his team’s struggles from close range, referring to Illinois big man Kofi Cockburn. The 7-foot, 285 pound Cockburn didn’t come anywhere near the six blocks he had in March in the same building against Indiana, but he was every bit as impactful. Behind a strong defensive effort, IU was able to keep the game close despite an off day from its best player. Indiana leading scorer Trayce Jackson-Davis was just 3-of-13…
