Indiana has confirmed that Charlton Warren will be the next leader of its defense. A 16-year coaching veteran, Warren takes the reins as the defensive coordinator at Indiana.  He comes to Bloomington after a stint as the defensive backs coach at Georgia.  Warren’s coaching experience includes six seasons as a defensive coordinator.  Over the course of his career Warren has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s top recruiters. Warren fills the opening left by Kane Wommack, who left Indiana to become the head coach at South Alabama.  Warren will also fill Wommack’s role as the linebackers coach. See…

Indiana head coach Archie Miller joined IU basketball radio voice Don Fischer on Monday for their Inside IU Basketball radio show. Miller and Fischer looked back at the win over Iowa and the loss to Rutgers.  The pair also discussed the state of the program and what the team will be doing with an eight day layoff ahead. Graduate assistant and former program walk-on Johnny Jager joined in the final segment. IU women’s basketball remained at No. 16 in Monday’s updated AP top-25 despite a road win over former No. 21 Northwestern on Sunday afternoon. Maryland (7), Michigan (12), Ohio State (14) and Northwestern (23) round out the Big Ten teams in the latest media rankings.  IU’s three losses on the season have come to top-25 teams Maryland, Kentucky (15) and Tennessee (20). Indiana fans are looking for tangible evidence of success on the field translating to high profile recruiting wins. The Hoosiers will have just that if they can close on Florida-based class of 2022 linebacker Melvin Jordan. Signature win, meet frustrating loss. As has been the case throughout Archie Miller’s tenure at Indiana, the Hoosiers failed to build on a big win, instead falling to Rutgers at home to slip back under .500 in league play. IU is now just 2-3 at home in Big Ten play this year, another familiar pattern of home mediocrity in a once formidable venue that has plagued Miller’s squads. Indiana fell to Rutgers on Sunday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind. by a final score of 74-70. The Scarlet Knights ran out to a 55-41 second half lead and held on to end a five-game losing streak and secure their first ever win at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. For the second time this month an IU basketball road trip to Michigan will be postponed. Multiple outlets are reporting University of Michigan Athletics will go on a two-week pause in accordance with an order from the Michigan state health department.  The reports were later confirmed by the school. The Michigan Daily first reported the state order halts all athletic activity including practice and is limited exclusively to U-M athletics after a recent influx of positive cases within several Michigan teams.  The Daily report indicates that there were five confirmed cases of the new COVID-19 B.1.1.7 variant, with 15 more…
