COVID-19 is making one last run at the Big Ten football season. IU Athletics announced on Tuesday evening that its football program has paused all team-related activities due to an increase in COVID-19 cases within the program. In a release, the program indicated that no decision has been made on Saturday’s game against Purdue.  Earlier in the day, the Purdue football program canceled its Tuesday practice as it awaited the results of COVID-19 testing. Indiana head coach Archie Miller met with the media on Tuesday to discuss his team’s Big Ten / ACC matchup with Florida State. Joining Miller at the press conference were IU guards Rob Phinisee and Trey Galloway. Indiana and Florida State tip-off at 7:15 p.m. ET in Tallahassee, Fla. on Wednesday.  The game will be televised by ESPN. A pair of top ten teams faced off over the weekend as 4A No. 1 Lawrence North took on Hammond at the Sneakers for Santa event in Brownsburg. IU basketball class of 2022 recruiting target C.J. Gunn (#4/white) led the way for Lawrence North with 19 points, six rebounds, three assists and three blocks.  Indiana offered Gunn a scholarship over the summer. Indiana head coach Archie Miller joined IU radio voice Don Fischer on the radio on Monday night for another episode of Inside IU Basketball. The pair took a look back at the Maui Invitational, what Indiana has been focused on over the last week, and previewed Florida State. The player guest in the final segment was sophomore guard Armaan Franklin. Growing up in northern Indiana, life was hard for Tom Allen. The Purdue fans were unavoidable, even in his own family. The Big Ten / ACC Challenge has seen a couple postponements due to COVID-19. The ripple effect has caused a change to the tip time for Indiana’s Wednesday matchup with Florida State. All eyes now turn to the Big Ten, and the University of Michigan football program. Will the Wolverines or won’t they provide Ohio State with their required sixth game to qualify for the Ben Ten championship game as they contend with a COVID-19 outbreak?  And if Michigan cannot play the Buckeyes this Saturday, how does the Big Ten respond? Indiana basketball returns to action this week as the Hoosiers (3-1) get set to face No. 20 Florida State in Tallahassee on Wednesday night in connection with the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
