The Daily Hoosier is previewing each position group during the final days leading up to the opening kickoff of the 2021 Indiana football season on Sept. 4 against Iowa. Today we take a look at the linebackers and bulls. For the first time in the Tom Allen era, Indiana has outside linebackers listed on its roster. Louisville based class of 2023 forward Kaleb Glenn is moving his recruitment along at a good clip. A top-50 four-star prospect in the junior class, Glenn is down to Indiana, Louisville, Texas A&M and Tennessee according to a report by Joe Tipton of On3. Glenn is ranked the No. 41 player in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports Composite.  He previously took an unofficial visit to IU in June. He’s been too heavy and too light.  There have been injury rehabilitations and an off the field issue.  Some have said he wasn’t a good enough blocker, and there have at times been drops. Reading that you might suspect we are talking about a hyped recruit who never reached his potential.  But no, Peyton Hendershot ranks second on Indiana’s tight ends career list with 10 touchdowns, and he sits third with 90 receptions and 936 yards. It wasn’t long ago, 102 days to be precise, Indiana suffered a national championship overtime loss to Marshall at the College Cup. Thomas Allen got a preview of life after football — and discovered he wasn’t quite ready for that.  But it was a decision that didn’t come easy. During a season filled with historic high points, one memorable 2020 low stands out above the rest at the Allen household. Nothing has been formally announced, but former 5-star recruit and USC running back Stephen Carr appears likely to be Indiana’s starting running back when it opens the season at Iowa on Sept. 4.  Watch below as he talks about fall camp, the running back competition, his transition from California, and much more.
