Indiana picked up its second new player for the 2021-22 season in as many days. The roster news continues for Indiana in what has been a hectic offseason since a March 11 loss to Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament. In just the last few days redshirt senior center Joey Brunk entered the transfer portal and landed at Ohio State, and IU next received a commitment Monday from class of 2021 top-60 guard Tamar Bates. On Tuesday Northwestern transfer Miller Kopp committed to IU. New Indiana assistant coach Dane Fife appeared recently on The Drive with Jack Ebling. The former star IU player and longtime Michigan State assistant coach spoke with Ebling for nearly 40 minutes about the coaching influences in his life and other topics. Watch below the junior season highlights for one of the top players in the state of Indiana, class of 2022 guard Will Lovings-Watts. The 6-foot-5 Lovings-Watts has had an ongoing dialogue with Indiana going back to his freshman year. The long and athletic guard averaged 16.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 58 percent from the field overall including 48 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.  He helped lead Jeffersonville to a 15-7 record and a sectional title in 2021. Indiana doesn’t have a long history of successfully recruiting players from South Carolina, but with a new staff of assistants the Hoosiers are venturing into untapped geography. Noah Clowney is one of two big men from the Southeast who received Indiana offers over the weekend as assistant coach Yasir Rosemond helps the program establish more of a presence in the area. The top-seeded Indiana men’s soccer team earned the Big Ten Tournament Championship Saturday, defeating No. 2 seed Penn State on penalty kicks at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind. Following a 1-1 contest, the Hoosiers were victorious on penalty kicks, 3-2, to claim their third consecutive tournament title and fourth overall. Indiana becomes the first program to win three consecutive Big Ten Tournaments since Maryland claimed three in a row from 2014-16. Joey Brunk won’t be playing his sixth season at IU, but he will be playing against the Hoosiers in the Big Ten for the 2021-22 season. The Indianapolis, Ind. native announced on Saturday evening he intends to play his final season of college basketball at Ohio State.  Brunk broke the news on his Twitter page.
