New Indiana point guard Xavier Johnson went in depth on his basketball career and his expectations for his time at Indiana in a lengthy interview with Zach Schumaker.  Johnson arrived on campus at Indiana last week after three seasons at Pittsburgh. Johnson is a native of Woodbridge, Va., and a graduate of Bishop O’Connell High School. The IU basketball class of 2021 has arrived in Bloomington. The program released a video of the arrival of freshmen Tamar Bates and Logan Duncomb on Sunday.  Bates’ family also posted a few photos. Together the two man class is ranked No. 35 according to the 247Sports Composite. A 6-foot-5 5-star guard from Kansas City, Kansas, Bates is ranked No. 28 nationally in the class.  He played his senior year at IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and averaged 11.4 points and shot 40.0% from long distance.  He was selected to the 2021 Jordan Brand Classic 30-man roster.  Previously Bates was a…

Former IU basketball player AJ Moye joined the 19Nine podcast recently. A fan favorite at IU, Moye scored 791 points over four seasons in Bloomington from 2000 to 2004.  The Georgia product was a key part of Indiana’s run to the 2002 national championship game. Massachusetts based class of 2022 forward Kyle Filipowski has risen up the rankings this spring with a strong performance on the AAU circuit.  A 4-star recruit, he is currently the No. 56 player in the class according to the 247Sports Composite. Playing for the New York Renaissance Nike EYBL program, Filipowski is a highly skilled 6-foot-10 forward who can play inside and out, handle the ball, and he is a nifty passer.  You can watch spring highlights of Filipowski below. Watch below some of Indiana’s best plays on the ground during the memorable 2020 season, courtesy of the Big Ten Network. The Hoosiers struggled overall in the running game, finishing with 111.8 yards per contest, good for just 111th out of 128 FBS programs.  But there were certainly some highlights.
