The IU women’s basketball program is in the midst of its best run ever, and the school is intent on ensuring the good times roll on. Indiana University and head women’s basketball coach Teri Moren have agreed to a new contract thru 2027 the school said on Thursday in a release.  The new deal will make her among the highest compensated women’s basketball coaches in the Big Ten and adds four years to her prior contract, which ran through 2023. Indiana football head coach Tom Allen met with the media on Wednesday to provide a spring practice update.  The Hoosiers began their 15 spring practice series on March 9 and will continue through April 10. IU will not host a spring game open to the public this year.  They open the 2021 season on Sept. 4 at Iowa. Indiana received a wave of good news on Wednesday, as a coach, player and now recruit have all remained committed to the program. On the recruiting front, class of 2022 guard C.J. Gunn remains firmly committed to IU basketball, his father first told Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star on Wednesday. Indiana fans will get to see Parker Stewart in the cream and crimson after all. The graduate transfer Stewart announced on his Twitter page he is staying with the IU basketball program.  He put his name in the transfer portal soon after Indiana fired former head coach Archie Miller. “IU gave me a home when I needed it the most after the passing of my father, and I look forward to staying an putting on the jersey at this prestigious university.” Stewart wrote in his post. For the second year in a row, the IU football program will go without a spring game. Head coach Tom Allen confirmed during a media availability on Wednesday afternoon that the program would conduct a closed scrimmage during its final spring practice on April 10, but there will be no traditional spring game open to the public. Mike Woodson will retain at least one person from the Archie Miller era. Kenya Hunter will stay on with IU, he confirmed with The Daily Hoosier. Hunter was hired by Archie Miller in August to replace Bruiser Flint.  A native of Arlington, Va., he has strong recruiting ties to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and has Indiana involved with several key targets in the class of 2022.  Along with fellow assistant coach Mike Roberts, Hunter was retained by AD Scott Dolson as part of a transition team after Miller was fired.
