Indiana football offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan met with the media to discuss his group and preview the program’s 2021 fall camp. Sheridan is in his second season as Indiana’s offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. He coached the tight ends in 2019 and the quarterbacks in 2017 and 2018. Sheridan took over the offense after the 2019 season when Kalen DeBoer left to become the head coach at Fresno State. The Hoosiers offered their latest Peach State prospect this weekend — class of 2024 forward William Jobe. Indiana dipped back into the class of 2024 on Saturday with an offer to a rising star from a familiar AAU program. Cooper Koch led the Indiana Elite 15U Adidas team to a runner-up finish at the circuit finals in July.  The versatile 6-foot-7 prospect hails from Peoria, Ill. and attends Notre Dame High School there. New IU football defensive coordinator Charlton Warren met with the media to discuss his group as the Hoosiers open fall camp. Warren was named Indiana’s defensive coordinator on Jan. 26, 2021.  He replaced Kane Wommack, who is now the head coach at South Alabama.  Warren will also coach the Hoosiers linebackers. Most recently Warren has been in the SEC.  He led the defensive backs at the University of Georgia (2019-20), the cornerbacks at the University of Florida (2018), and he mentored the defensive backs and served as special teams coordinator at the University of Tennessee (2017).  Warren played at Air…

Back in the spring IU coach Mike Woodson said he wanted to see his All-American forward Trayce Jackson-Davis use his right hand more often and start shooting more perimeter shots. We will have to wait until next week in the Bahamas to see where the junior big man stands as it relates to those two developmental areas. Indiana has made the cut for its top guard target in the class of 2022. Jalen Hood-Schifino posted his top-five on his Instagram page on Thursday afternoon.  IU is joined on the list by Memphis, Florida, Texas and Tennessee. The 6-foot-5 Hood-Schifino took an official visit to Bloomington in late June and the IU staff watched him play throughout the July live period.  He was one of the top players on the Nike EYBL circuit in July, when he averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.8 steals in five full games before an illness forced him out of…

Indiana head coach Tom Allen put to bed any concerns that his defense might be without All-Big Ten cornerback Jaylin Williams for all or a portion of the 2021 season. Laura Lane of the Bloomington Herald-Times reported in late June that a vehicle driven by Williams when he was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated in February was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Bloomington on June 27.
