Minnesota defensive line coach Chad Wilt is leaving to take a “prominent” position at Indiana, according to Gopher Illustrated’s Ryan Burns. “It’s expected that Wilt will have the title of defensive coordinator in some capacity at Indiana,” according to the report. Wilt has coached defensive line for more than a decade, meaning he could take on that recently vacated role as well in addition to any coordinator duties. Indiana moved up over .500 in Big Ten play and secured their 12th overall win of the season, the same total they had for the entirety of the 2020-21 campaign, with a 73-60 win over Minnesota on Sunday. The Golden Gophers made it interesting as they turned a 12-point early second half deficit into a one-point lead with 11:09 left in the game.  But IU closed on a 25-11 run to secure their fifth win in the last six games. Indiana defeated Minnesota on Sunday afternoon by a final sore of 73-60 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind. The Hoosiers led 39-29 at halftime and were led in the game by Xavier Johnson with 14 points.  Trayce Jackson-Davis and Rob Phinisee each had 13. Indiana landed a commitment on Saturday from former UCLA linebacker/edge rusher Myles Jackson. Former University of Kentucky linebacker Jared Casey announced on Saturday he is transferring to Indiana. He announced the news on his Twitter page. https://twitter.com/jared_casey01/status/1479911592192061446?s=20 A former four-star linebacker from Ballard High School in Louisville, Casey had eight tackles in 2021 with one quarterback hurry for the Wildcats. As a redshirt freshman in 2020, Casey appeared in all 11 games and finished with 20 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. He recorded six tackles in a win over Mississippi State.
