Indiana brought in a program record recruiting haul on Wednesday, but at least for now one key piece of the 2022 puzzle remains unsigned. Much has changed since Indianapolis (Lawrence North H.S.) senior wide receiver Omar Cooper, Jr. verbally committed to Indiana over the summer. From then to now, IU has a new offensive coordinator, a new situation at quarterback, and just generally an entirely new outlook after a disappointing 2-10 season. The changes, many of which have come in just the last few weeks, led Cooper to decide he needed a bit more time to take it all in.…

Indiana’s best recruiting class in program history has a glaring omission. And Tom Allen is hell bent on doubling up to fill the void. Over the past two weeks IU has seen starting quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. depart via the transfer portal, and class of 2022 quarterback commit Josh Hoover flip to Texas Christian. Those move left the Hoosiers thin at the position both for the short and long term. While Indiana signed 25 players as part of its No. 20 ranked class on Wednesday in connection with the first day of college football’s early signing period, none of them,…

This is how 247Sports Southeast analyst Andrew Ivins evaluated James on his profile page: “A big man that’s rather light on his feet. Carries 275 pounds better than most. The type of interior lineman that can not only plug gaps,…
Indiana hopes it found its dynamic playmaker of the future in Houma, Louisiana class of 2022 athlete/running back Jaylin Lucas. Lucas has decommitted from Tulane and signed on Wednesday with Indiana. https://twitter.com/Julie_Boudwin/status/1471146779664171012?s=20 After his family was displaced by Hurricane Ida, Lucas moved to New Orleans and played his senior season at Edna Karr High School where he returned four kicks for touchdowns as part of a state runner-up squad. Lucas committed to Tulane over the summer but Indiana made a hard push after the season and landed the 5-foot-9 prospect who will likely serve as a scat back at the…
