For the first time, a group of players all with ties to the IU basketball program are expected to play in The Basketball Tournament (TBT). Going into its ninth year, TBT is a million dollar, winner-take-all event televised live on ESPN. The event has been won by college alumni teams for three straight years. Indiana has regularly been mentioned as one of the schools that has suffered the most losses via the transfer portal since the end of the 2021 season. Earlier this week, the NCAA Football Oversight Committee recommended conferences no longer be required to have divisions to hold a conference championship game. The Division I Council is set to vote on it as soon as next week, and several reports indicate it is expected to pass. All four Indiana class of 2022 signees were ranked in the top-110 nationally according to 247Sports’ final rankings for the incoming freshman class published on Wednesday. Montverde Academy products Jalen Hood-Schifino (23) and Malik Reneau (35) were both top-35 prospects, while Kaleb Banks comes in at No. 77. 247Sports was the first of the national outlets to include Lawrence North shooting guard C.J.
