Victor Oladipo’s first return to an NBA court since 2023 probably wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. But if his goal was to prove he still belongs after two-and-a-half years away, the 33-year-old opened some eyes on Monday evening. Playing for the Loong Lions, a Chinese professional team, Oladipo posted 20 points, five rebounds, five steals, three assists and a block in a preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs. As is the case each season, the Big Ten is rolling out kick times and television designations a couple weeks ahead of each game. The league office released details for Indiana’s homecoming game against Michigan State on Oct. 18 in Bloomington. The Hoosiers and Spartans will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET inside Memorial Stadium. The game will stream on Peacock. IU basketball has entered the mix for class of 2026 wing Vaughn Karvala and will get a visit on Oct. 16. That’s according to a report by national 247Sports analyst Travis Branham. Karvala is from Wisconsin and is playing this season in Arizona at Bella Vista Prep in the EYBL Scholastic League. The 6-foot-6 Karvala appears to be down to Indiana, Xavier and California based on Branham’s report. Indiana will have All-American cornerback D’Angelo Ponds back when they travel to Oregon this weekend. Ponds was a late scratch in the week leading up to the Iowa game. “I expect Ponds to be fine and play,” IU coach Curt Cignetti said on Monday at his regular press conference. Indiana’s lockdown corner on the boundary, Ponds has 11 tackles, three tackles for loss, an interception, a pass breakup, and a blocked punt he returned for a touchdown on the season. After a week to recover from a physical game at Iowa, Indiana is headed back out on the road. The No. 7 Hoosiers will face No. 2/3 Oregon on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET at Autzen Stadium in Eugene (CBS).  Both teams are coming off a bye week. Indiana football moved up two spots to No. 7 in the latest coaches poll released following their bye week. They passed both Penn State and Texas this week. The 5-0 Hoosiers will next head to No. 2 Oregon this Saturday in Eugene (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS) for a national top-10 matchup. The Big Ten continues to dominate the top of the coaches poll, with Ohio State (1), Oregon (2), and now Indiana forming the top-7. Also ranked from the league are Michigan (15) and Illinois (17). A panel of 12 analysts at ESPN have IU football unanimously in the College Football Playoff through week six of the 2025 season. Although the Hoosiers (5-0) were on a bye this weekend, losses by Penn State and Texas helped clear the field.
