Kahlil Benson arrived in Kansas City in the spring for a tryout with no guarantees beyond Rookie Minicamp weekend.
Four months later, he has been recognized as one of the top rookies in the league.
Benson was named the NFL “Offensive Rookie of the Month” for September on Thursday after starting each of the Chiefs first three games at left tackle. Benson has yet to yield a sack.
Benson wasn’t the only former Hoosier to receive monthly NFL honors today.
Myles Price is the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September 2026.
Price finished the opening month of his second pro season leading the NFL in kickoff returns (12), kickoff return yards (353), punt return yards (130), yards per punt return (21.7) and delivered the only punt return TD in the NFL so far this season.
Price totaled 130 yards on six punt returns. His 21.7-yard average was boosted Sunday by his 86-yard punt return for a touchdown at Tampa Bay, the first score of his pro career.
