Bloomington based guard Anthony Leal has quickly gone from two to one.

After announcing a final two just a couple weeks ago, Leal is now reportedly ready to announce a decision on Friday.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard will announce a verbal commitment to either Indiana or Stanford.

We believe that Tipton Edits was the first to report the news.

Leal took an official visit to Stanford in March, and as a local he is of course a regular visitor to the IU campus.

As a junior at Bloomington South, Leal averaged 19.9 points per game and led a talented squad to the 4A regional final where the Panthers came up short against Trayce Jackson-Davis led Center Grove.

Leal made 55% of his shots on the 2018-19 season including 38% from long range.  He added 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.1 steals per contest.

Rated No. 96 nationally according to the latest 247Sports Composite, Leal is the top player in the state of Indiana among incoming seniors according to that service.

Playing with the Indiana Elite on the Adidas AAU Circuit, Leal had a productive spring and summer running alongside IU commit Trey Galloway and 2021 target Khristian Lander.

Leal averaged 12.2 points per contest for Indiana Elite in 21.5 minutes per game.  He shot 48.6% from the field overall, including 41.9% from three-point range.

He added 3.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, .8 turnovers and .7 steals per contest during AAU play.

If he chooses Indiana, Leal will follow a noteworthy list of players that have gone from Bloomington high schools to IU.
