One of the two biggest games in Memorial Stadium history is likely to kick at Noon ET.
The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman has revealed the television network and start time for Indiana’s game against Ohio State on Oct. 17.
In an article detailing the Big Ten’s current media rights deal with FOX, CBS and NBC, Dochterman shared the first five picks from the networks’ television draft. FOX owns the first three picks and selected Michigan at Ohio State, Ohio State at Indiana and Oklahoma at Michigan.
Dochterman’s reporting indicates the Big Ten Championship Game rematch in Bloomington will kick off at noon with top crew Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt on the call. Comments by Klatt on his podcast in June seemed to suggest he already knew he’d be at IU for the game.
Kick times and television designations are typically announced 12 days prior to games, but Indiana’s first five games were already known prior to this report. Here are those first five:
- vs. North Texas (FOX, Noon ET)
- vs. Howard (BTN, Noon ET)
- vs. Western Kentucky (Peacock, 4 p.m. ET)
- vs. Northwestern (FOX, 8 p.m. ET)
- at Rutgers (TV TBA, 8 p.m.)
Dochterman says trades can happen after the networks draft. Generally, FOX has five of the top 11 picks, while CBS, NBC and Big Ten Network each have three selections. FOX also chooses games for FS1, while NBC selects matchups for Peacock.
The networks often draft for a weekend’s pecking order rather than a specific game, allowing them to make their final selection for a given weekend 12 days before kickoff.
