The class of 2020 isn’t quite finished, and the Hoosiers filled a position of need on Monday with a high level prospect from Georgia.
6-foot-6 defensive end Jalen Mayala has committed to Indiana, becoming the 19th scholarship addition to IU’s 2020 class.
The Georgia based Mayala announced his decision on his Twitter account:

The announcement by Mayala comes after he took an official visit to Indiana this weekend according to his 247Sports profile page.
A three-star recruit, Mayala is the No. 889 overall player in the country in the class of 2020 and the No. 45 weakside defensive end.
Playing for Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Mayala accumulated 56 tackles (36 solo) in 12 games as a senior according to his MaxPreps page. He had two sacks on his 2019 campaign.
247Sports national writer Steve Wiltfong gave this assessment of Mayala:
“He is quick-twitched, physical stand-up linebacker on the prep level with a nice upside.”
Mayala chose Indiana over Purdue, Illinois, Arizona, Georgia Tech and others.
