Indiana offered the Wisconsin native a scholarship in June.
Brakefield has averaged 16.3 points per game on 60.2% shooting from the field through 12 games during the spring playing for Phenom University.
The 6-foot-8 forward has shot 30% from long range (on 30 attempts) and 87% from the foul line thus far during AAU action. He has added 5.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.4 steals per contest.
