Indiana freshman guard Prince-Alexander Moody suffered a knee injury and will miss “an extended period of time” coach Darian DeVries said on Monday evening following IU’s season-opening 91-57 win over Eastern Illinois.
“We’ll continue to get him evaluated but don’t anticipate having him back for quite some time, so unfortunate news there,” DeVries said.
The injury occurred in the days leading up to the first game of the season.
The 6-foot-4 Moody was on the IU bench for the game wearing street clothes, with his leg in a brace. He was utilizing crutches.
The Maryland product was a top-100 4-star in the class of 2026 according to the national recruiting sites.
Moody played extensively on Indiana’s trip to Peru over the summer and showed promise as potential rotational piece in the backcourt for this season.
Now it appears he’ll miss most or all of his first campaign in Bloomington.
