    Hoosiers in the NBA: Stats Through the End of March

    Eight former IU basketball stars are playing at the highest level of the game during the 2018-19 season.  We will be monitoring their seasons with monthly updates.

    Below we summarize their year to date performance with NBA stats through the end of March and provide a brief update on each player.

    OG Anunoby – Toronto

    Anunoby has been out the last couple games after suffering a blow to the head.  He has passed concussion protocol and should return soon.  The former IU star came off the bench exclusively in March but still managed to increase his numbers.  With Toronto seemingly on track for the No. 2 seed in the East, Anunoby should once again see playoff action this year.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 64/6

    MPG – 20.3 (career high)
    Points – 7.1 (career high)
    Rebounds – 3.0 (career high)
    Assists – .7 (ties career high)
    Blocks – .3 (career high)
    Steals – .7 (ties career high)
    FG% – .456
    3FG% – .338
    FT% – .567

    Thomas Bryant – Washington

    Although he spent part of the month coming off the bench, Bryant’s minutes per game and most other stats ticked up in March.  Included in the month was a massive 18 point / 19 rebound game against Phoenix last week.  Bryant’s per 36 minute numbers are 18 points and 11 rebounds per game.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 68/49

    MPG – 20.4 (career high)
    Points – 10.1 (career high)
    Rebounds – 6.2 (career high)
    Assists – 1.2 (career high)
    Blocks – .9 (career high)
    Steals – .4 (career high)
    FG% – .605 (career high)
    3FG% – .330 (career high)
    FT% – .790 (career high)

    Yogi Ferrell – Sacramento

    Ferrell continues to be a regular in the Kings rotation.  He closed out the month with a 10 point effort in 15 minutes of action as the Kings completed their first ever sweep of San Antonio.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 66/3

    MPG – 14.4
    Points – 5.6
    Rebounds – 1.5
    Assists – 1.9
    Blocks – .1
    Steals – .5
    FG% – .430 (career high)
    3FG% – .366
    FT% – .895 (career high)

    Eric Gordon – Houston

    Gordon was a regular starter for the month and his field goal percentage jumped in March.  Gordon had a 32 point game against Boston that included eight three-pointers and he is 9 for his last 17 from long range,

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 63/48

    MPG – 32.2
    Points – 16.2
    Rebounds – 2.3
    Assists – 2.0
    Blocks – .4
    Steals – .6
    FG% – .405
    3FG% – .351
    FT% – .782

    Victor Oladipo – Indiana

    You know the story by now.  Oladipo’s 2018-19 season has ended after a knee injury on January 23.  He did play long enough to be voted as an NBA All-Star for the second straight season, although he did not of course play in the game.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 36/36
    Points – 18.8
    Rebounds – 5.6 (career high)
    Assists – 5.2 (career high)
    Blocks – .3
    Steals – 1.7
    FG% – .423
    3FG% – .343
    FT% – .730

    Noah Vonleh – New York

    Vonleh has been out the last couple weeks with an ankle injury.  Prior to that Vonleh put up good numbers including a 17 point / 12 rebound game against the Clippers.  Vonleh is averaging a double-double per 36 minutes with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started -68/57

    MPG – 25.3 (career high)
    Points – 8.4 (career high)
    Rebounds – 7.8 (career high)
    Assists – 1.9 (career high)
    Blocks – .8 (career high)
    Steals – .7 (career high)
    FG% – .470
    3FG% – .336
    FT% – .712

    Troy Williams – Sacramento

    Williams was with the Kings’ G-League affiliate in Stockton for the month of March.  He is averaging 19.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game there.

    2018-19 YTD NBA Stats:

    MPG – 15.9
    Points – 5.7
    Rebounds – 3.1 (career high)
    Assists – .6
    Blocks – .4 (career high)
    Steals – .6
    FG% – .460
    3FG% – .341 (career high)

    Cody Zeller – Charlotte

    Zeller had returned from a fractured right hand and posted some of the best production of his career before the injury bug struck again.  Knee soreness has caused Zeller to miss the last three weeks of action.

    2018-19 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 49/47

    MPG – 25.4
    Points – 10.1
    Rebounds – 6.8 (career high)
    Assists – 2.1 (career high)
    Blocks – .8
    Steals – .8
    FG% – .551
    3FG% – .273
    FT% – .787 (career high)
