This 2022 profile page covers Virginia based wing Justin Taylor.

    ESSENTIALS

    Status —  COMMITTED – SYRACUSE

Hometown – Charlottesville, Virginia (St. Anne’s Belfield)
    Position – Small forward
    Height – 6-foot-6
    Weight – 210
AAU – Team Takeover (Nike EYBL)
    247 Sports Composite Rating – 4-star / No. 86
Primary Competition – North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Syracuse,

Timeline — Taylor would like to announce a commitment this summer.

Indiana Connections — No major connections.  IU assistant coach Kenya Hunter, who worked under Archie Miller and has been involved since last August, is leading the recruitment.

Numbers — Taylor did not have a junior season at St. Anne’s Belfield due to COVID-19 cancellations.  As a sophomore he averaged 15.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

    COACH AND RECRUITING SERVICE ASSESSMENTS

“Justin is the epitome of a gym rat.  He puts in the hours and his game and body continue to develop because of it. It’s exciting to think of where he can be in three to four years.”

    — St Anne’s-Belfield head coach Damin Altizer to Rivals’ Jamie Shaw

“The most impressive part of his game is his shooting, but he really showed he can score in different ways and can lock in defensively. At 6-foot-6 he’s extremely versatile and stretches the floor with his elite shooting.”

    — 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London

    QUOTABLE

“It’s Indiana basketball. It is a totally different thing than a lot of other states. They take it super seriously there with the five national championships that they have, I think that kind of speaks for itself. I think going there, if I do go there, is just such a huge stage to play on, because it is Indiana, that’s what I’ve gathered so far, and with a visit I think I can get an even better, more clear view of it.”

    — Taylor to The Daily Hoosier

“Obviously with coach Woodson’s basketball history coaching with the Knicks and everything, that’s huge with him coaching at the level I want to get to. Coach Hunter has been recruiting me for a while now, so we’ve built a good relationship.”

    — Taylor to All Syracuse
