Regular season play has concluded for Big Ten men’s basketball.  Below we take a look at the Big Ten tournament bracket which begins on Wednesday, our picks for the various conference awards, and we revisit our conference standings predictions.

Indiana opens Big Ten tournament play on Thursday and will meet the winner of Rutgers and Minnesota.  A victory on Thursday would set up a Friday rematch with Purdue.

    REVISITING OUR CONFERENCE STANDINGS PREDICTIONS

While we nailed a fairly predictable top of the Big Ten ten conference, we were also way off on a few teams including Nebraska, Ohio State, Northwestern and Minnesota.  The Gophers were decimated by injuries and would have almost certainly finished much better.  We don’t think anyone saw Nebraska finishing that well.  We certainly underestimated the Buckeyes and overestimated Northwestern.

We did pretty well with the middle to bottom of the conference.  Rutgers is always a reliable pick for last.
