Indiana Athletics has announced a new long-term deal with Merchants Bank that includes the renaming of the playing surface inside Memorial Stadium. The deal will provide $50 million to IU over 20 years, along with financial literacy training for student athletes. The Branch McCracken Court inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall will have a fresh new look in 2025-26. On Wednesday Indiana Athletics posted a video providing a quick peek inside the venerable structure following a refinishing of the hardwood. The main thing that stands out is it appears the yellow/orange tint on the court was replaced with a more modern neutral look. A trio of Indiana football players landed on the latest round of preseason watch lists released Tuesday. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza is on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award list, while offensive lineman Drew Evans and wide receiver E.J. Williams Jr. both landed on the College Football Comeback Player of the Year scroll.
