IU men’s soccer’s season came to an end Sunday afternoon in Bloomington. No. 6-seeded Indiana (12-6-1) outshot Saint Louis (12-2-7) 16-3 in their NCAA Tournament Second Round match and dominated possession, but the visitors scored on their lone shot of the first half to survive and advance on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium. College soccer blue bloods battle with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line. NCAA Division I men’s soccer’s two greatest champions meet for the second time this season as No. 6-seeded Indiana hosts Saint Louis on Sunday in the NCAA Tournament Second Round on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium. Indiana and quarterback Fernando Mendoza are utilizing the bye week to build his case as a Heisman Trophy contender. Mendoza’s numbers are doing most of the talking. He is the first FBS quarterback since at least 1996 with multiple games of .900 completion percentage and four-or-more touchdown passes in the same season.  He leads FBS in touchdowns responsible for (30 Passing, 5 Rushing) and points responsible for (210).  And right now he is the only FBS quarterback with 30-plus passing touchdowns. This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first bobblehead of Indiana Hoosiers head football coach Curt Cignetti. The officially licensed talking bobblehead plays the audio from the December 23rd, 2023, National Signing Day press conference when Cignetti was asked how he sells the vision of his culture to recruits and said, “It’s pretty simple. I win. Google me.” The line quickly became a symbol of his confident approach to winning, generating national buzz for the program.
